OH "TWO"dles!

 Westin is two!
We celebrated his 2nd birthday with a Mickey Mouse themed party. Of course, as the mommy, I had an emotional break down the night before when he fell asleep. I watched him sleep for a good two hours and bawled my eyes out, but forced myself to stop, because I had to get to work on getting everything together for the party. We had the party outside, and it was HOT. My little two year old ran around and got so sweaty and dirty, but he had a blast! Westin loved his party, and of course his toys, but words cannot express his excitement over that Mickey Mouse birthday cake.

Mommy and daddy eventually decided on a gift that we saw appropriate for him, and apparently we did a pretty good job, because we couldn't get him out of it.

We barely got the truck down on the ground before he was jumping in!

And this was his face when he realized that pushing the peddle actually makes it go!

And from there, he spent the rest of the party driving around, trying to run everyone over.

We had some wonderful guests, and we were so happy that everyone was able to make it out!

Cousins sharing one of the presents! and of course having to show off how sweet they can be!

I'm so thankful for my baby boy. He is so intelligent, and I am unbelievably proud of him. He learns new things every day, and I love getting the experience to watch him grow and turn in to a little gentleman. He is such a wonderful blessing. He is such a happy boy, and we're so thankful for all the friends and family who are continuously showing him how much he is loved. He had a great time, and we have everyone to thank for that.

Turning Two!

We're fast approaching my little man's SECOND birthday! We're doing a Mickey Mouse Theme, which is his absolute favorite character right now. I actually HANDMADE all of his invitations from an idea I got from Pinterest. We're planning to have an outside party this year, so we're hoping the rain stays away. This is the idea I used for his invitations!

A lot has happened since I've last updated on here, so I'll just fill in some of the important stuff. I started a new job in September at Community Trust Bank, which meant that Westin had to start daycare. He loves it! He's so smart, when we ask him how old he is going to be he shouts, "Two!" Daycare has advanced him a lot, and we have great communication with his teachers, so they are filling us in on what they are practicing so that we can do the same at home. He knows some of his colors; blue, red, green, and yellow. He can count to five, with a little help, (He always forgets four!) He is able to point out most of the common animals like, dog, fish, cat, cow, horse, snake, monkey (which he mistakenly calls "mommy.") He is a mommy's boy, but his daddy is starting to become is best friend. :)

Westin also got his first hair cut since I've last posted on here, and it went great! He sat perfectly still, but of course he had to sit in mommy's lap. Can you all believe that they said he "graduated from babyhood? Nooo.... . He's still My baby. :(

We've also found out that he loves to go fishing, and really enjoys being on the boat. He always has to drive, but he accidently threw his pole overboard..

He's also became mommy's handy man around the house. He's always such a big helper!

We've been spending a lot of time outside, since he loves the sunshine! We bought him a Cars mini 4-wheeler, and he loves it! He could ride around all day long!

I've had a hard time realizing that my little tiny baby is not a baby anymore. He's so independent, and acts like he never needs my help. He wants to do everything on his own. :( I need him to stay little for a few more years, that's why he promised me he would stay two forever. He said "Pwomise." <3

Westin's Update

We had a very long night. My poor baby was so sick. We couldn't bring his fever down from 104. We tried everything we could think of -Motrin and Tylenol, cool wash cloth, Gatorade, - you name it, we tried it. He was awake every 30 minutes all night in so much discomfort.
I took him back to the doctor this morning and they tested him for meningitis, which thankfully came back negative. He still has a virus, just a very harsh one. He's been so sad all day. :(

We home and napped for three hours, which was definitely needed! He started acting better after that, but I know that a fever usually spikes back up around bedtime.  We're praying that we're seeing the end of this horrible virus.

On a happier note, today is my step-Dad's birthday!! And Friday is Dustin's 22 birthday! We're trying to think up some good birthday ideas! (we as in Westin and I) 

So behind!

Life has definitely had me carried away! Ive been missing from here for a while now! But I'm am going to take time from now on to at least attempt to post! :) 

My best friend got married this weekend, and she looked absolutely beautiful. She is also expecting a baby girl any day! So exciting!  she had an amazing wedding!

Westin has been sick today, which has made for a long and hard day. He's grouchy and uncomfortable, which makes it hard to know what he wants. He was running a fever around 103 today, so we took him to see his doctor. He seemed fine when we got home, but it didn't take long for that fever to spike back up to 104.2, which is scary for any parent! I'm sure I'll be awake all night worried about my baby. It's so unfair when they're sick.  

We're Back!

We've been gone for a while, due to our internet not working. But thankfully, the switch to Time Warner Cable is now complete, and my internet is working without fail! :) Westin is almost 11 months, which means that we are running out of time to plan by baby's 1st Birthday Party. Not sure if this is going to be a happy or sad time for me.. :(

The pool at the resort has finally opened! So Westin and I are trying to spend as much fun time in the sun as we can! I'm so thankful to be a Stay At Home Mom with Westin, so I can watch everything he does, which leads me to one of his biggest accomplishments.....
Westin has officially taken his first few steps!! :)) Such a big boy.

We made our first visit to TJ Maxx yesterday, and found a few things, but really not as much as I expected. We were trying to fill Westin's wardrobe back up, after I just cleaned out all his clothes that no longer fit. We had just assumed to give all the hand-me-downs to my nephew, Asher, but since he's growing so quickly, the clothes don't fit him either! Maybe we'll have our first yard sale this summer!

Our Busy Sunday

Today was Westin's second vist to church, and once again he did great! :) I'm so glad I have finally convinced Dustin to go, I want Westin to grow up with a church family because I didn't have one as a child.

There was a visitor today, a writer and singer of gospel music. I can't think of his name, but that isn't the important part, it was his story. He told everyone about why he decided to give his life to Jesus, and it was a really touching story, so I want to share. :)  He was involved in a terrible car accident around 7 years back, and said he was pronounced dead that night. He had a dislodged eye socket, broken back in 4 places, broken ribs, cracked skull, and other severe injuries. He doesn't remember anything, but does remember waking in the hospital, right after the doctors had pronounced him dead. What a miracle, or a blessing! The doctors had no explanation, but they said there was 18 minutes of no oxygen. He is now completelly healed. They told him he would more than likely never be able to walk, talk, feed himself, or live a normal life. Now he travels the world, doing everything he could before. AMAZING.
:)

After church, we had our usual Sunday lunch with Westin's great grandparents, and Westin stuffed himself with french fries and Puffs.

After, was my best friend's baby shower. She's having a little girl, soon to be Westin's girlfriend. :) It was a really cute shower.

We came home and Westin and I took a VERY long and well-needed nap. :) My baby had a busy day.

Now, my 10 goals for the Coming Week. May 7th - 13th

1. Send in Avon order on time.
2. At least one TWO loads of laundry every single day.
3. Cook dinner at home every evening that Dustin is off work.
4. Return my rented text books, and sell the others.
5. Give Levi, our dog, a bath.
6. Work with Levi on house breaking more. We have to keep him crated while we aren't home because he likes to "forget" he can't potty inside.
7. Look up some 1st Birthday Party ideas.
8. "Mommy Time" Every. Single. Day. :) 10 minutes, an hour, I don't care.
9. Find Westin some walking shoes.
10. Go through all of our clothes and get rid of what we no longer wear. We're getting clutter, already.

Here's my iFunny for the day. :)

My Goals/Flash Back Friday

I decided to start off my first actual posting with a goals list, which is something I really need to focus on, and actually do, so here goes....

1. First and foremost, I need to be all that I can for Westin. Everyday it just amazes me how much he really adores and looks up to me. He's growing up so fast, and I want to make sure I do everything right for him.

2. I REALLY have to get myself in to gear with school. I guess I'm just expecting all my work and studying to do itself, but it hit me hard today how much I've already messed up by procrastinating. If I plan on making something of myself, this will have to CHANGE.

3. Right now Dustin is working two jobs, and we're doing fine financially. But it's no fair to him to have to do that to keep our family comfortable. I need to suck it up and let Westin be babysat and just go get a job.

4. I WANT to get myself back in to shape. After Westin was born, I lost all the baby weight, and now I'm slowly starting to gain it back. If I don't take care of it soon, I probably never will.

Technically, for me it's still Friday because I haven't gone to bed yet. So I'm doing my Flash Back Friday post.

...I never pictured myself to be a mom, and I actually didn't think I wanted kids. Westin came as a bit of a surprise, but he was the best surprise of my life. I was so scared the day we brought him home. That first night, I didn't sleep at all because I was so afraid I wouldn't wake up when he cried. I stayed awake for most of that first week actually. Now, almost ten months later, he is absolutely perfect. He's so smart, and so advanced -I'm just amazed by him. :)
